SANYO proudly introduces the Xacti dual camera range that allows users to capture digital still images and video recordings simultaneously. The name Xacti, derived from the combination of the words exact and action, is an apt description of these cameras which have the capability of catching both motion and still images and recording them exactly. |

Compact, user friendly and definitely a smarter way to record images, the Xacti range is not comparable to anything currently available on the market. |

| A whole new digital world |
| |
A whole new digital world has been opened up by the SANYO Xacti dual camera range which has been created from world first technologies. Here, still digital photos and video camera functionality have been combined in a single camera, where users can switch between modes at the touch of a button.
This range of cameras has been manufactured by SANYO since 2003 and has scooped numerous awards including five CES Innovation Awards. This comes as no surprise since the range includes the world’s first full HD dual camera (HD2000 and FH1), the world’s first waterproof HD camera (CA9) as well as the highest resolution dual camera which offers either 10 megapixel or 12 megapixel recording capabilities (CG10). |

| Its all about functionality |
| |
The Xacti dual camera range proposes a whole new way of recording without compromising on the quality of both video and still technology. In addition, this functionality has been combined in such a way that is easy to use. |
| |
The ‘photo’ and ‘video’ buttons are conveniently located at the back of the camera and users can easily switch between the ‘photo’ and ‘video’ mode at the touch of a button. All of the controls are thumb-operable.
This means that there is no need to carry two cameras around when the SANYO dual camera gives you both high quality video and still functionalities in one single camera. And since the video and photo mode can be switched instantaneously, you will never miss another photo opportunity again. What’s more is that you can even simultaneously take still photographs while filming. |

| Storage technology |
| |
There is no doubt that SD/SDHC cards offer a convenient way of storing data. Today memory cards are increasing in capacity and decreasing in price. Xacti has adopted a memory card recoding system using high density integration technology. Image processing circuits are packaged into a single chip which reduces weight and saves resources in comparison to other cameras which require two separate engines for processing. |
| |
In addition, this system is also highly compatible with a host of other media including ipods, digital photo frames and computers. You can easily store, play and create albums of your videos without having to use a PC, by simply purchasing an ordinary hard disk drive. It’s easy to store SD card images onto an ordinary hard disk drive, and the entire operation is done using Xacti. No editing software is required and only basic PC operations are needed for uploading videos to the web and blogs.
These memory cards are reusable and now offer an almost unlimited recording space since the latest 100GB SDHC card was recently unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. |

| Ergonomics go a long way |
| |
Styled to fit comfortably and securely in the hand, the Xacti dual cameras have been designed with a vertical pistol-grip which has been proven to be more ergonomically friendly.
Xacti’s lens and grip are optimally angled to put the arm and elbow at the most comfortable position when the |
lens is held horizontally. This design has also proven to put less stress on your wrist while filming due to the natural posture that your wrist assumes.
This design also allows for one-handed picture taking when it comes to action shots and is easily adaptable to either right or left hand orientation. Xacti also offers dual cameras in the traditional horizontal design. |

| |
| Quality compression |
| |
Xacti uses the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 recording system. Motion image data recorded in MPEG-4 can be transferred to a PC by a simple drag and drop operation. Xacti can also record videos in WEB-SHQ mode to produce video data that is small enough in volume for easy posting on blogs and other web applications. The high compression format on all the camera models compresses videos and pictures without loss of quality.

Xacti was the first camera of its kind to satisfy the world’s most stringent waterproof standard. With the Xacti, SANYO has achieved the highest waterproof rating with its Xacti Waterproof range that is able to take both still photos and videos underwater, without a casing. Unlike other cameras, the Xacti is completely submersible, and the new model is able to capture images and videos up to an impressive 3m underwater. A range of accessories for the Xacti Waterproof range is also available. |
