SANYO South Africa proudly presents a new line-up of cameras that redefine digital imaging. Available from April 2009, these cameras have been specifically designed to enhance active lifestyles. The new range of cameras, Dual Camera Xactis, take both photos and videos thereby combining the benefits of digital still cameras and camcorders into one stylish and compact unit.
The new mixed form factor (horizontal, vertical) line-up of six cameras includes new waterproof HD models (VPC-WH1, VPC-CA9), Compact HD units (VPC-TH1, VPC-CG10), and Full HD 60p cameras (VPC-FH1, VPC-HD2000).
Since introducing the Dual Camera Xacti line-up in 2003, SANYO has sold more than one million units globally (as at September 2007). SANYO has created a new market segment based on the concept of being able to take both high quality videos and photos with one simple, compact camera, performing the functions that both a camcorder and a digital camera are able to do.
SANYO is proud to announce the addition of a horizontal form factor, one that expands options available to users while retaining SANYO’s proprietary technology and know-how in digital imaging, providing more choices with more functionality than ever before.
While the cameras provide the freedom to take both photos and videos separately, it also allows you to take photos and videos simultaneously. Dual Camera Xactis are the only cameras that feature a built-in slide-show function with the capability viewing both photos and videos without having to stop and switch modes - both when viewing on the camera or when watching from the camera on the television. There is also no need to switch modes to take the perfect photo while filming video or to switch playback modes when viewing a multi-media slideshow.

Ready to take high resolution photos and record high definition videos in both vertical and horizontal form factors, SANYO offers a variety of body styles providing more options to choose from. Because the cameras are small and compact they are ultra-portable and easy to hold for active filming and shooting while on the go.
The 2009 Dual Camera line-up includes the same advanced dual capability with both traditional television viewing and computer-use/viewing, including instant sharing on the web. Moreover, many are compatible with several optional lenses, just like a professional camera. |
